FAQ
Frequently asked questions

Where is this rental program available?
Where do I pick up the rental equipment?
Do you sell snowboards, boots, or bindings?
Yes! We sell everything you need. We have a solid partnership with Thirst Snowboards, based on our preference for using their boards. Mark Miller’s (owner of Thirst) boards are beyond sick and will spoil you. Mark started out building and riding snowboards in Summit Park and Park City, Utah. Thirst Snowboards has many models to choose from and can tailor the board to your needs. Shop for his boards here and give him a call. We also sell every snowboard, binding and accessory made by Kessler, Virus and SG. If you don’t see it on the UPZ North America website (link below at “Click here”), just ask us.
Carving Crew Rentals is the exclusive distributor for UPZ hard shell snowboard boots in North America and South America, plus we sell to Australia. Additionally, the only location among those continents where you can try on UPZ boots and rent them is right here, at Brighton Ski Resort or Park City Mountain. Carving Crew Rentals can order any boot you see on our website if we don’t have it in stock, in addition to parts and other UPZ gear. Click here to shop for UPZ hard shell boots, ski boots, snowboards, isolator plates, plus bindings and gear.
Do you offer additional insurance?
At this point, we do not. You are renting high performance custom snowboards that cost well over $1,000. The boots and bindings are likewise high performance and on par with prices for similar levels of ski equipment. You break it, damage it, etc. you are legally liable because you have accepted the responsibility by signing the waiver.
What about canyon closures and refunds?
Yes, we all have to live with canyon closures and avalanche control, so we are very understanding about that. Give us a call if you are unable to make your appointment due to these issues and you’ll get a refund. We’ll ride another time slot, don’t worry. Any other reason for missing your appointment and our policy is 50% refund for 48 or more hours of notice before your rental time, which is standard for ski and snowboard equipment rentals. No refund for less than 48 hours of notice unless Big Cottonwood Canyon closures hinder your arrival time. See our full cancellation and refund policy here.
Do you rent regular snowboard soft boots?
No, but the Brighton Ski Resort rental shop should be able to provide you with soft boots. If you need soft boots, please line up that reservation with them or obtain them in advance before you show up. We’ve got you covered with high performance binding rentals and hard shell snowboard boot rentals, provided your feet are not wide widths, or on the outer margins of the shoe size bell curve.
What about lessons?
Great question; you’ve come to the best resort to learn how to snowboard with the absolute best equipment money can buy, Thirst Snowboards and UPZ hard shell boots. Learning in hard shell boots is much easier than soft boots. You will learn fast when you sign up for lessons at the Brighton Snowsports School and use our gear. Remember to see what time slots are available with us and coordinate with time slots that fit your schedule at Brighton Snowsports School.
What about multi-day rentals?
We are the only business in North or South America, renting out the highest performance alpine snowboards and hard shell boots in addition to our concierge service. As such, we have a limited supply, so at this time, we do not do multi-day rentals. Hit us up though if you’re really looking to rent multi-day and we’ll see what we can swing. Once you ride the boards and feel the power of hard shell boots, we’re pretty sure you’ll be hooked like we are.
What about logo merch?
Oh yeah, we’ve got that. Get your beanies here
